Jason and Marin sang together in concert almost since the day they were married in 1997. Beginning in 1998 with their last concert in the spring of 2018. The San Francisco Chronicle dubbed them “Broadway’s Golden Couple”.

Team Marin NYC Half Marathon Fundraiser

On September 13th 2018 my wife of 21 years, Broadway and concert star, and positive and glowing life force, Marin Mazzie passed away after a three and a half year long journey living with ovarian cancer. Marin and I were drawn to CSC by their mission statement "to ensure that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action, and sustained by community”. We know very well the ups and downs and the scary unknowns of living with cancer. Knowledge is power and a community of extremely knowledgeable caregivers in 47 states, quite a large community, can provide much needed strength by their incredible support.

We could think of no better way to share our compassion for others than by assisting CSC in any way we could. This year it is an honor to put 13.1 miles under the treads of my running shoes to raise money to help them continue their great work.

Who knows maybe I’ll double the distance in November!

Jason and Marin received the Founders Award for Empowerment at the Cancer Support Community's 2016 Spring Celebration.

I and an old friend and theatre luminary, Brian D’arcy James, will be running for Team Marin. Marin will be, as she always is, right there beside me every day of training and on March 17th for the New York City Half Marathon.

All funds raised benefit the Cancer Support Community, an organization that is dear to my heart and is continually and valiantly helping so many who live with the realities cancer brings. Please consider giving and giving generously.

As the largest professionally led nonprofit network of cancer support worldwide, the Cancer Support Community (CSC), including its Gilda’s Club affiliates, is dedicated to ensuring that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action, and sustained by community.
