Marin Mazzie's
Sunflower Power Hour
As reported in Broadway World, on Sunday, September 22, Jason Danieley hosted uplifting performances by some of Broadway’s brightest stars. Marin Mazzie’s Sunflower Power Hour paid tribute to Mazzie’s achievements and advocacy. The benefit concert raised funds for CSC to provide free support and navigation services to patients and their loved ones.
On September 13, 2018, Mazzie passed away from ovarian cancer. A powerhouse performer and fierce patient advocate, Mazzie served as a CSC Champion. Danieley, a fellow Broadway star, advocate, and CSC Champion, has continued the collaboration with CSC and hosted the benefit at Feinstein’s/54Below in New York City.
The musical tribute featured performances and remarks from some of Mazzie’s closest friends including Liz Callaway, Victor Garber, Howard McGillin, Debra Monk, Donna Murphy , David Hyde Pierce, Susan Stroman, and Karen Ziemba as well as CSC President Linda House.
Those unable to attend the benefit concert can still honor Mazzie’s legacy by making a donation below. Gifts of $25 or more will receive a limited-edition sunflower power wrist band in memory of Mazzie's love of sunflowers, which were an inspiration to her during her treatment.
